Hello 2025!!!!

Michaels Bear

Happy New Year everyone! We have had a horrendous year (2024) so both Flo and myself are excited to go into 2025. We had a few days off over Christmas as Flo spent most of hers looking after sick children then she became ill herself. I had a quiet Christmas with Dad and Ford and ate too much, watched too much rubbish TV and I was keen to get back to the bears! The first thing that Flo and me do every year is blitz our homes, tidy home, tidy mind and a good start to the new year, so both of us smelt of bleach for the first few days of January !!!

One of the first things I had to do was make Michaels bear. Michael was Flo's partner, Sienna's much loved Daddy and Riley's step-dad. He died tragically and our family will never be the same again. I have learnt a lot from his passing and now live for today as life is so fragile and short. Flo gave me Michaels old work jumper and towel a while back and its took me a while to get to making the bear, we are always conscious of how it feels for our clients to hand over much loved clothing, we also know, very much, how that feels. Our day job consists of making bears for people who have lost a loved one and getting it right. There are a lot of memories wrapped up in a bear and one wrong cut or mishap can destroy a memory. We take all that very seriously and Michaels bear was no exception, it turned out to be a very therapeutic bear for me and lots of thoughts and laughter of Christmases past, barbeques in the rain, Easter egg hunts and of course the birth of my granddaughter, and not to forget him nearly losing my granddaughter in a pumpkin (a very long hilarious story)

So we are going into 2025 with a bang and we now have a little bit of Michael to take with us, I know he looks over us and my daughter and grandchildren, so to all of you, all the best for 2025 and Id like to raise a glass to Michael x
